WHAT IS THE BEST BUDDIES FRIENDSHIP WALK/RUN AND DAY AT THE IOWA CUBS?
The Best Buddies Friendship Walk/Run is a fun-filled community fundraiser to support your local Best Buddies programs of inclusion. Our friendship, integrated employment and leadership programs educate people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to be advocates for social inclusion in your community.

The Best Buddies Friendship Walk/Run AND Day at the Iowa Cubs is an exciting day that will celebrate Best Buddies Iowa's mission! Join us for a day of fun, friendship and inclusion with our sixth annual Friendship Walk at 11am. Following our walk/run, the Iowa Cubs will open the stands for Best Buddies Day! We will have the opportunity to share the mission of Best Buddies with everyone who attends the game through our participation as honorary bat boy/bat girl, a chapter singing the National Anthem, the recognition of our Chapter of the Year and Friendship of the Year.
Participants of the Friendship Walk who raise $50 will receive a game ticket and Best Buddies Friendship Walk T-Shirt. Additional tickets for the game are available for those who are not able to participate as a walker. Call 515-282-6218 for more information.
OUR IMPACT
Since the first Friendship Walk in 2009, they have become an integral part of the Best Buddies annual calendar. Our walks not only raise essential funds for our local offices that directly impact the strength of our programs, but also provide a powerful public awareness event.
Each walk affords us the opportunity to celebrate the importance of the Best Buddies mission, educate the public on the need for social inclusion, and empower people with IDD to become leaders within their community.
In 2011 alone, over 9,000 walkers collected over $750,000 for their local Best Buddies offices.
Lead by example, become a participant, team captain, or a sponsor and learn more about our cause while teaching others the benefits of inclusion.

BE A TEAM CAPTAIN
Team Captains are the leaders who can help us be successful through the organization of teams. You will serve as the link between Best Buddies and potential walkers. You create power in numbers by motivating friends, family, coworkers, and others to join you in the Friendship Walk/Run.
You will make a difference in the life of a person with IDD, and being a team leader is easy and fun!
