Best Buddies Iowa would like to thank all of our wonderful supporters and program participants that made this years Friendship Walk a huge success! With your help, Best Buddies Iowa was able to raise over $18,000 benefiting our programs throughout the state.
The beautiful weather allowed program participants and supporters throughout the state to take part in a fun event with live music, awards, crafts and friendship.
Miss Iowa was on hand to hand out awards to the Outstanding Chapter of the Year, Chapter Leader of the Year and Friendship of the Year. The top community fundraising team received a wonderful prize package including 10 tickets to an Iowa Barnstormers game and the top school fundraising team received a party pack as well.
College awards: Chapter of the Year, Wartburg College, CBD of the Year Chandra Peterson at Iowa State, Buddy Pair of the Year, Sara Wolf and Allison Chapman at Mount Mercy. High Roller Club Wartburg, Mount Mercy, Cornell, Iowa State and Drake.
High School Awards: Chapter of the Year, Iowa City High School, Chapter President of the Year, Emma Gesiriech, Buddy Pair of the Year, Aimee Lister and Sarah Olson of Harlan Community High School. High Roller Club: Iowa City High School, Harlan Community High School, Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School, Hoover High School, and Johnston High School. |
