Best Buddies Iowa will honor Senator Tom Harkin at the 3rd Annual Giving Thanks Gala for dedicating much of his career to being an advocate for people with disabilities.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. at Hy-Vee Hall at the Iowa Events Center and will include live jazz music and cocktail reception, silent/live auction, dinner, and brief program. Tickets are $75 per person.
All proceeds from the evening benefit Best Buddies Iowa, a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.

April 25, 2009 Best Buddies Iowa Friendship Frolic Walk Jordan Creek Town Center - West Des Moines, Iowa
The 3rd Annual Friendship Frolic walk will bring together high school and college program participants and community supporters from across the state of Iowa Saturday, April 25th.
The walk will commence at 10 a.m. at Jordan Creek Town Center lake in West Des Moines.
Participants will enjoy a mile friendship walk, live music, food, and activities. Miss Iowa USA and Miss Iowa Teen USA will be in attendance to greet walkers.
